Your campus life

A compact, friendly campus with everything you need within walking distance to the lecture halls and libraries, cafés, sports facilities and accommodation. 

Bangor offers a city centre campus where academic buildings, student services and accommodation are all close by. You will find modern learning spaces, well equipped laboratories and libraries that support a wide range of subjects.

  • The Pontio building is home to the Students’ Union, a cinema, theatre, lecture theatres and places to eat.
  • Several cafes, restaurants and bars across the student villages.
  • Sporting facilities which include a fully equipped Olympic and functional training area, fitness classes, indoor courts, armoury for fencing and a climbing wall.
  • Access to Snowdonia Watersports, an outdoor activity base in Llyn Padarn which provides rowing programmes and other water/mountain activities clubs.

Accommodation

Bangor University offers high-quality accommodation for international students, all within easy reach of the main campus and city centre. Most halls are located just a few minutes’ walk from teaching buildings, libraries, and social spaces.

You can choose from a variety of modern residences, including St Mary’s Village, Ffriddoedd Village, Bryn Eithin, Reichel, Neuadd Jenkins, and Neuadd John Morris-Jones. Options include en-suite rooms, shared flats, and studios, all fully furnished with shared kitchens and social areas.

Living in university accommodation means joining a friendly and supportive community. Residential wardens and mentors are available to help you settle in and make the most of your time in Bangor, with regular social activities to help you meet new friends.

If you prefer, there are also private halls and shared houses in Bangor city centre and nearby areas.

Running the University’s clubs, societies and volunteering projects, it also provides student support as well as a range of entertainment. Membership of the Student Union’s clubs and societies is free of charge for all students. Whether you want to try something new, make friends and find your community, there is always something happening.

Bangor University International College (BUIC) is a dedicated college for international students to start their studies. We offer integrated and standalone pathway programmes which develop your academic and English language skills.
