Dundee is a small and welcoming city, set on the banks of the River Tay and surrounded by some of Scotland’s most beautiful landscapes. Everything you need is within walking distance, from cafés and shops to galleries and green spaces. Excellent transport links make it simple to reach the Highlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow and beyond. Known for its creativity and innovation, Dundee is home to the V&A Dundee, thriving cultural venues and a lively student community. With affordable living costs, it offers the ideal balance of opportunity and quality of life.

Campus Life

The University of Dundee offers a vibrant and supportive environment, with modern facilities and a strong sense of community. You can enjoy a wide range of sports and fitness options, including tennis courts, a swimming pool, and outdoor playing fields. 

The campus library includes CreateSpace, a unique area where you can relax and try creative tools such as sewing machines, 3D printers, badge makers and more. Student accommodation offers self contained flats with private bedrooms and en suite bathrooms, giving you both comfort and independence.

The University has three welcoming campuses. The City Campus is in the heart of Dundee, close to everything you need. Ninewells Campus is home to medical and life sciences students and is located next to one of the United Kingdom’s leading teaching hospitals. Kirkcaldy Campus, in the nearby town of Kirkcaldy in Fife, provides a close knit learning environment for students of health sciences.

Throughout the year, you will be able to enjoy major events such as the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design degree show and the Festival of the Future.

When I started looking at universities, I wasn’t just thinking about the course. I wanted more than just lectures and libraries. Back home, I played hockey every week. I loved the energy and the team spirit.  So my parents and I searched for a place that valued sport and study.

The University of Dundee has about 1600 rooms spread across four main halls of residence: Belmont Tower, Heathfield, Seabraes and West Park. The student support staff are available to assist you with accommodation options.

All rooms are single occupancy with private bathrooms (en suite), equipped with superfast WiFi. Rooms cost approximately £140-£70 per week.

Also available are laundry facilities, bike storage, a shared kitchen and weekend parking.

Halls are 10-minutes away from big supermarkets and the train station. Even less is the walk to get to the city centre, full of restaurants, cafes and bars.

International College Dundee (ICD) is a dedicated college located the main City Campus of University of Dundee. We offer integrated and standalone pathway programmes which develop your academic and English language skills.

Our international college is part of the university campus so you will have access to all the same university spaces, facilities and community so you will feel like you are part of the university from the day you start.
